Description

The Pertimali Rosso di Montalcino is a complex wine showing balsamic notes alongside plums, ripe cherry and violets on the nose.  Delicate initially but building on the palate, this is more like a baby Brunello than ‘humble’ Rosso.  Made from hand harvested, sustainably grown grapes which are gently pressed there is a wonderful freshness to the wine.  This gorgeous red ages for 6 months in steel tanks and 6 months in bottle prior to release.

The Vinvita Rubicone is a very easy drinking red showing typical Sangiovese character with heaps of pure, upfront fruit unhindered by any oak ageing. Ripe cherry and red fruits, with a touch of flowers and spice. Well-balanced, juicy and extremely quaffable.

Nerello Mascalese

The Nostru range from Azienda Agricola Cortese offer terrific value, expressive wines made with grapes more commonly associated with the slopes of Mount Etna. The farming here is traditional and a nod to when organic production was a way of life rather than an informed decision.
