Description
Javernieres is a small vineyard within the hill of Cote du Py that is prized by the locals as producing the best wine in Morgon. This terrific example has some bottle age but drinks beautifully, with concentrated dark cherry and red fruits balanced by a fine mineral character courtesy of the granite soils. Jean Paul is a very traditional producer who has always worked his vines organically and prefers the Burgundian winemaking practices that are coming back into vogue in Beaujolais. Restrained alcohol levels are also important to JP and his wines posess a beautiful balance of power and finesse. Drinking very well now, this fabulous wine will continue to age gracefully for several years yet.
