Description
Chateau Kirwan has enjoyed extensive investment in both the winery and vineyard over recent years and the results are starting to show, not only in their amazing classed growth Kirwan, but also the second wine labelled as Charmes de Kirwan. Usually made from the younger vines, this wine receives the same meticulous care and attention in the winery as the top wine.
55% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30% Merlot, 10% Cabernet Franc and 5% Petit Verdot.
This shows fantastic depth and fruit quality for the vintage with crushed currants, raspberries and flowers to the medium to full body, round and ripe tannins and flavorful finish. Good tension and poise. Drink after 2022.
93 – James Suckling, JamesSuckling.com, January 2020

2022 Promis Ca Marcanda, Gaja, IGT Toscana
Merlot
The Ca Marcanda Promis is a complex wine with an undeniable elegance. The nose is rich and concentrated, with blueberry, liquorice and cocoa hints. It starts fresh and then develops balsamic notes and scents of graphite, before becoming more mellow in character with a rhubarb and menthol note. The palate is voluminous with fine-grained and silky tannins on the finish.

2020 Chateau Saransot-Dupre, Listrac Medoc, Magnum
Bordeaux Blend
Chateau Saransot-Dupre is a favourably sited 17 hectares property that lies between Fourcas Dupré and Fourcas Hosten in Listrac. Due to Listrac’s cooler temperatures, Merlot and Cabernet Franc are favoured over Cabernet Sauvignon to form the majority of the blend, helping them achieve optimum ripeness. Much like Chateau Fourcas Hosten, the wines have improved year on year since 2010 and the property were put on the radar thanks to a certain Robert Parker hailing the 2010 vintage as 'classed growth quality'. High praise indeed!
