The Campeador Rioja Crianza, Martinez Lacuesta,Rioja DOCa has a wonderful deep black-cherry colour, is full-bodied, rounded and velvety with well-integrated oak on the finish. Garnacha dominates this blend which spends 18 months in new American oak casks and a further 12 months in bottle.
Martinez Lacuesta has 66 hectares of vineyards just for reds, with this being at an altitude of between 478 and 559 metres above sea level. All of the red wine vineyards are around the Bodega in Haro, with the most important vineyards in Villalba de Rioja, Villarica in San Asensio and Finca la Platera in Haro. The high altitude, south facing vineyards provide perfect growing conditions.
