Description

Vignobles Levet is a fourth generation, family owned domain who farm 4 hectares of vines in the Northern Rhone.  The grapes for this lovely Cote Rotie are hand harvested, and spend 24 months in oak following a traditional fermentation, giving a well-structured wine with pretty red fruits intermingled with the telltale spice of the Syrah grape.

“The 2016 Côte Rôtie Amethyste has exotic notes of gamy meats, medicinal herbs, beef blood, and iron. It’s nicely concentrated, medium to full-bodied, and shows the wild, sauvage character of this estate beautifully. It will benefit from short-term cellaring and keep for 10-15 years.”

Bordeaux Blend

Chateau Saransot-Dupre is a favourably sited 17 hectares property that lies between Fourcas Dupré and Fourcas Hosten in Listrac.  Due to Listrac’s cooler temperatures, Merlot and Cabernet Franc are favoured over Cabernet Sauvignon to form the majority of the blend, helping them achieve optimum ripeness.  Much like Chateau Fourcas Hosten, the wines have improved year on year since 2010 and the property were put on the radar thanks to a certain Robert Parker hailing the 2010 vintage as 'classed growth quality'.  High praise indeed!
