Description

Bouchon are 4th generation viticultutralists situated in the Maule Valley. Current incumbent Julio Bouchon and his children carry on the family tradition of creating distinctive, terroir-driven wines. The Block Series wines are a relatively new addition to the Bouchon range and concentrate on specific blocks of their dry farmed, granite based vineyards in the Maule valley.

Wonderfully deep and intense in the glass. The powerful nose is complex and rich displaying an abundance of red and black fruits, cherries and blackberries with a touch of black pepper. These fruits carry through to the rounded, well-structured palate that finishes with soft and juicy tannins.

Vandal Combat Rouge Field Blend.JPG

2022 Gonzo Combat Rouge, Vandal Wine Company

Red Blend

The Gonzo Combat Rouge is a rather unusual field blend of Pinot Noir, Cabernet Franc and Viognier which are co-fermented with whole bunch fermentation.  The results is a beautifully supple yet plush and ripe red wine with sweet, spicy raspberry and cherry fruit. We've found it drinks best slightly chilled on a warm evening.

2020 Chateau Saransot-Dupre, Listrac Medoc, Magnum

Bordeaux Blend

Chateau Saransot-Dupre is a favourably sited 17 hectares property that lies between Fourcas Dupré and Fourcas Hosten in Listrac.  Due to Listrac’s cooler temperatures, Merlot and Cabernet Franc are favoured over Cabernet Sauvignon to form the majority of the blend, helping them achieve optimum ripeness.  Much like Chateau Fourcas Hosten, the wines have improved year on year since 2010 and the property were put on the radar thanks to a certain Robert Parker hailing the 2010 vintage as 'classed growth quality'.  High praise indeed!
