Description

The St. Laurent Trift is a wonderful example of how well this grape can age when in the right hands.  Fully mature yet still retaining plenty of freshness, the fruit balances between Pinot Noir like elegance, smoky tertiary notes and meaty dark fruits.  Meticulous vineyard and winery practises have produced a wine of impeccable pedigree and one which should be on every adventurous wine drinkers ‘to drink’ list.

Cabernet Sauvignon

The Sottano Cabernet Sauvignon is a lovely deep red/black colour that  leads to a complex and inviting nose of coffee, dark fruits and hints of spice.  The ripe, rounded palate has more generous dark fruits, well-integrated oak and soft, supple tannins on the finish.

Sangiovese

The Vinvita Rubicone is a very easy drinking red showing typical Sangiovese character with heaps of pure, upfront fruit unhindered by any oak ageing. Ripe cherry and red fruits, with a touch of flowers and spice. Well-balanced, juicy and extremely quaffable.

Red Blend

Lopez de Heredia is an ultra traditional winery where little has changed since it's founding in 1877.  The wines are generally kept in the cellar for longer than other producers and also have enormous ageing potential.

2022 Nostru Nerello Mascalese, Cortese, IGT Terre Siciliane

Nerello Mascalese

The Nostru range from Azienda Agricola Cortese offer terrific value, expressive wines made with grapes more commonly associated with the slopes of Mount Etna. The farming here is traditional and a nod to when organic production was a way of life rather than an informed decision.
