Description
This fully mature claret has come direct from the property and offers lovers of aged claret a real treat. Black fruits on the nose mingle with herbal notes, cedar and a complex spice. The palate is nicely balanced with some dried dark fruits and earthy notes well-integrated with spicy oak and mineral undertones. The finish is long, showing more complex liquorice, smokiness and dark chocolate along with lingering oak.
80% Merlot, 20% Cabernet Franc
Chateau Bel-Air is a 10-hectare property that neighbours vineyards owned by Château Angelus in the commune of Montagne and is remarkably well-exposed, with both rocky and clay-limestone soils. The vineyard is divided into two parcels: 6 hectares on the clay-limestone plateau, with vines over 40 years old, and 3 hectares on a slope with more clay-rich soils, with vines aged 15 to 20 years, predominantly Merlot. The consultant winemaker is Damien Houx, a young rising star in Bordeaux who has won numerous gold medals across all of the cuvées at Bel Air.

2020 Chateau Saransot-Dupre, Listrac Medoc, Magnum
Bordeaux Blend
Chateau Saransot-Dupre is a favourably sited 17 hectares property that lies between Fourcas Dupré and Fourcas Hosten in Listrac. Due to Listrac’s cooler temperatures, Merlot and Cabernet Franc are favoured over Cabernet Sauvignon to form the majority of the blend, helping them achieve optimum ripeness. Much like Chateau Fourcas Hosten, the wines have improved year on year since 2010 and the property were put on the radar thanks to a certain Robert Parker hailing the 2010 vintage as 'classed growth quality'. High praise indeed!

2023 Gamay, Domaine Moulin Camus, IGP Loire
Gamay
This 100% Gamay from Domaine Moulin Camus comes from grapes grown on a slope of pure mica schist which gives the wine juicy, rounded red fruits a bit of tautness and minerality. A warmer than normal, sulphur free maceration for three days helps bring out some warmth and roundness to the fruit, making it slightly beaujolais'esque but without the bubble gum/commercial edge that one would normally find in this price range.
