Founded in 1994 Ktima Chatzivaritis is a 20 hectare organic estate in Goumenissa, Macedonia. Winemaking is now in the hands of 2nd generation Chloi Chatzivaritis who trained in Europe and has returned home to practice the low intervention philosophy she picked up on her travels.  The Mosaic white is a delicious, refreshing blend of Roditis, Xinomavro, Assyrtiko and Sauvignon, showing the best traits of each variety.

2024 Orange Solara, Viile Timisului

White Blend

This cracking little 'orange wine' comes from the innovative Cramele Recas winery in Romania.  It's not made with oranges, but the name refers to a white wine made in the red wine method, with fermentation taking place on the skins of the grapes, hence the darker colour.  This wine is fermented naturally with wild yeasts and without the addition of any sulphur.

The Petali Assyrtiko is a superb example of the grape. Cool fermented in stainless steel then aged on fine lees for 3 months prior to bottling.  The result is a wine which is impeccably balanced, showing zippy citrus and stone fruit flavours, mineral undertones and telltale saline freshness.  This is an ultra-refreshing and hugely enjoyable wine that suits a variety of mediterranean dishes.

2024 Picpoul De Pinet Mare Nostrum, Caves De Montagnac

The Montagnac cellar was created in 1937 and has grown with vineyards stretching over 7 communes all along the Thau lake in the mountainous foothills of Hérault. Around 2,000 hectares are vinified on 2 different sites, a major part of which is located on clay-limestone soils with some pockets of marl as well. The climate is Mediterranean, dry and hot during summer, but more temperate due to it's proximity to the sea.

Vachnadziani was established in 1953and is one of the oldest wineries in Georgia. Crisp, fresh and wonderfully approachable, this certified Organic Trebbiano from the beautiful Abruzzo region of Italy is a terrific new find for us.  Bright and concentrated with citrus tinged floral aromas on the nose leading to a well-balanced palate packed with pear and apple fruit and a faint saline edge to the finish.  Thirst quenching and more'ish, this provides terrific year round drinking and is an especially good match to shellfish.
