G. Miclo is widely regarded as one of, if not the, best producers of Eau-de-Vie and his Poire Williams are particularly amazing. This terrific eau-de-vie is made from the best Williams pears and then aged in glass demijohns to allow the alcohol to soften and better integrate with the flavour which gives for great purity of fruit and texture.

The colour is a very light amber with slight olive highlights. On the nose it is very creamy, vanilla custard. The smoke develops gradually, like a slow burning log fire, never overpowering but always reassuring. A guest taster was reminded of marshmallows toasted on a campfire, crisp on the outside and sticky sweet in the middle!The palate is incredibly well balanced, rich and creamy with a slight medicinal hint. The smoke is always present, washing over the palate in waves, like the soft billows of smoke from the kiln.To finish, gentle smoke lingers and lingers leaving you yearning for more!
