Description

The Masi Passo Doble fuses northern Italian know how with high altitude grapes from the Uco Valley to give a deliciously more’ish wine made with Malbec and Corvina.  This organic red uses slightly dried grapes to give a richness to the fruit and appealing touch of sweetness making this very appealing indeed!  Ripe red fruits, cherry and spice mingle in a silky, rounded palate that shows good length on the finish. Tuck into this juicy red with grilled red meats, autumnal stews and even a mid-week spag bol.

Rhone Blend

This relatively young family owned Domaine was created in 2001 by vignerons with 4 generations of vinegrowing and winemaking expertise under their belts.  They own some seriously old vines in superb sites in the Southern Rhone on a mixture of soils of red sand, clay and the classic 'Galet' pebbles associated with Chateauneuf du Pape.  As a result, their wines posess a wonderful depth and concentration.

2024 Cotes Du Rhone, Un Bon Canon

Rhone Blend

The Un Bon Canon Cotes du Rhone hits the spot every time with it's fruit forward blend of 60% Grenache, 30% Syrah, 5% Cinsault and 5% Mouvedre which is fermented in concrete tanks.  The vineyards lie in the southern part of the region on a dried up river bed strewn with heat retaining pebbles.  The hot summer sun ensures that the wine is bold and fruity with raspberry and dark fruits and hints of garrigue/herbal undergrowth.

Moulin Camus Gamay.JPG

2023 Gamay, Domaine Moulin Camus, IGP Loire

Gamay

This 100% Gamay from Domaine Moulin Camus comes from grapes grown on a slope of pure mica schist which gives the wine juicy, rounded red fruits a bit of tautness and minerality.  A warmer than normal, sulphur free maceration for three days helps bring out some warmth and roundness to the fruit, making it slightly beaujolais'esque but without the bubble gum/commercial edge that one would normally find in this price range.

Ca Marcanda Gaja.JPG

2022 Promis Ca Marcanda, Gaja, IGT Toscana

Merlot

The Ca Marcanda Promis is a complex wine with an undeniable elegance. The nose is rich and concentrated, with blueberry, liquorice and cocoa hints. It starts fresh and then develops balsamic notes and scents of graphite, before becoming more mellow in character with a rhubarb and menthol note. The palate is voluminous with fine-grained and silky tannins on the finish.
