Description
Although he is sixth generation winegrower and winemaker, rising Burgundian star Pierrick Bouley is modifying the family domaine, introducing new methods in both the vineyards and winery to stunning effect. The grapes for his Cote d’Or Pinot Noir come from south/southeast facing slopes just below Volnay and although labelled as a humble Bourgogne AC, the wine is anything but ‘entry-level’. This incredibly generous Pinot Noir is wonderfully open, with a mixture of red and dark fruits that almost verge on New World opulence. Elegant and fresh with a beautiful balance on the long finish. Limited quantities available.
Grapes are harvested manually and hand sorted prior to a second sorting on a vibrating table. Fermentation starts in vats without the addition of Sulphur and is finished in barrel. Minimal SO2 is added at bottling to stabilise the wine, resulting in a wonderfully pure and fresh Pinot Noir.

2022 Gonzo Combat Rouge, Vandal Wine Company
Red Blend
The Gonzo Combat Rouge is a rather unusual field blend of Pinot Noir, Cabernet Franc and Viognier which are co-fermented with whole bunch fermentation. The results is a beautifully supple yet plush and ripe red wine with sweet, spicy raspberry and cherry fruit. We've found it drinks best slightly chilled on a warm evening.

2024 Cotes Du Rhone, Un Bon Canon
Rhone Blend
The Un Bon Canon Cotes du Rhone hits the spot every time with it's fruit forward blend of 60% Grenache, 30% Syrah, 5% Cinsault and 5% Mouvedre which is fermented in concrete tanks. The vineyards lie in the southern part of the region on a dried up river bed strewn with heat retaining pebbles. The hot summer sun ensures that the wine is bold and fruity with raspberry and dark fruits and hints of garrigue/herbal undergrowth.

2023 Mercurey Rouge 1er Cru, Domaine Meunier
Pinot Noir
The grapes for this wine are hand harvested from 2 parcels in the heart of Mercurey where the soil is clay and limestone. They spend 10-15 days fermenting in the tank before being put into French oak barrels, 30% of which are new. The wine then spends 12 months in barrel before being blended and bottled.

2022 Lirac Rouge Cuvee Elie, Domaine La Loyanne
Rhone Blend
This relatively young family owned Domaine was created in 2001 by vignerons with 4 generations of vinegrowing and winemaking expertise under their belts. They own some seriously old vines in superb sites in the Southern Rhone on a mixture of soils of red sand, clay and the classic 'Galet' pebbles associated with Chateauneuf du Pape. As a result, their wines posess a wonderful depth and concentration.
