Picpoul

The Montagnac cellar was created in 1937 and has grown with vineyards stretching over 7 communes all along the Thau lake in the mountainous foothills of Hérault. Around 2,000 hectares are vinified on 2 different sites, a major part of which is located on clay-limestone soils with some pockets of marl as well. The climate is Mediterranean, dry and hot during summer, but more temperate due to it's proximity to the sea.

Roussanne

The Cotes Du Rhone Blanc from Domaine Grand Veneur is a superb value white. It is a blend of Roussanne, Grenache Blanc, Viognier and Clairette and been a regular feature of our list for several vintages thanks to it's wonderful balance of delicate floral aromatics, peach and stone fruit flavours and balanced fresh acidity.

2022 Cremant de Bourgogne Brut, Domaine Fournillon

Pinot Noir

Fournillon have 23 hectares of vines in Chablis in the cool, north of burgundy and are predominantly producers of classic, steely Chablis (see our fantastic value 'house' Chablis), but they also produce some red and this delicious cremant from 100% Pinot Noir.  All fruit is hand-harvested and vinified carefully to produce an easy drinking, fruit-forward fizz that is well balanced and nicely rounded with a fine mousse.  Excellent as an apertif.
