Description

The Rioja Blanco Vinas Viejas, Luis Canas shows a beautiful golden yellow colour with bright lemon-tints. The nose is elegant combining hints of flowers, fruits and hazelnuts. Dry on the palate with just enough acidity to make it fresh and lively with a structured and tasty finish of ripe fruit.

This is a beautifully balanced white Rioja that straddles the styles of the old and the new. Vibrant citrussy old vine Viura is barrel fermented in French oak with the more weighty Malvasia and aged for a further 5 months in a mixture of french and american oak barrels which adds a honeyed roundness to the crisp lemony fruit.

90% Viura & 10% Malvasia

The delicious Walt Riesling is medium-bodied, fruity and is made with fully ripened grapes.  It shows lovely flavours of peach and stone fruit, with a hint of apricot. Nicely balanced acidity adds grip on the finish. Great value and hugely popular.

Catarratto

The Palazzo Del Mare Catarratto wine is crisp and citrus laced with passionfruit, sweet ripe lemons and a traces of almond on the finish. 2019 Bordeaux Blanc Sec, Chateau Saransot-Dupre

Semillon/Sauvignon

Chateau Saransot-Dupre is a favourably sited 17 hectares property that lies between Fourcas Dupré and Fourcas Hosten in Listrac.  Due to Listrac’s cooler temperatures, Merlot and Cabernet Franc are favoured over Cabernet Sauvignon to form the majority of the blend, helping them achieve optimum ripeness.  Much like Chateau Fourcas Hosten, the wines have improved year on year since 2010 and the property were put on the radar thanks to a certain Robert Parker hailing the 2010 vintage as 'classed growth quality'.  High praise indeed!
