Description

The Beaujolais Villages ‘Cuvee Six’ from Caves De Julienas Chaintre just gets better and better with each vintage, showing soft, rounded red fruits and vibrant cherry flavours.  Complex enough to make one sit up and think yet easy going and supple at the same time.  Great for lighter lunches and it can also be chilled lightly when the weather warms up!

Located in the small villages of Jullié and Emeringes, the grapes for this Beaujolais Villages come from vines planted in the sandy, granitic soils so typical of this region. Harvesting is carried out by hand and the grapes are left in tank for 7-8 days to macerate with the skins to extract colour and aroma. Fermentation is warm, at around 27/28 degrees and maturation follows until the end of the winter when the wine is bottled.

This wine has remarkable texture, mouth-filling fruit and a very good length.

Saransot Dupre Bordeaux Rouge Magnum.JPG

2020 Chateau Saransot-Dupre, Listrac Medoc, Magnum

Bordeaux Blend

Chateau Saransot-Dupre is a favourably sited 17 hectares property that lies between Fourcas Dupré and Fourcas Hosten in Listrac.  Due to Listrac’s cooler temperatures, Merlot and Cabernet Franc are favoured over Cabernet Sauvignon to form the majority of the blend, helping them achieve optimum ripeness.  Much like Chateau Fourcas Hosten, the wines have improved year on year since 2010 and the property were put on the radar thanks to a certain Robert Parker hailing the 2010 vintage as 'classed growth quality'.  High praise indeed!
