Description

The 2019 Tin Mine White is a stunning blend of Chenin, Chardonnay, Roussanne, Viognier and Semillon, coming from vineyards planted on decomposed granite soils which lie between 200 and 350m above sea level.  Ageing in 500 litre French oak barrels helps add to the wonderful texture without detracting from the impeccably integrated exotic, spicey fruit and lively yet balanced acidity.

Zevenwacht Wine Estate is owned by the Johnson family and is situated on the Southern most slopes of the Bottelary Hills in Stellenbosch. This beautiful property has its vineyards overlooking Cape Town and is influenced by its proximity to the ocean and the cooling South-Easter wind, making wines with great fruit purity and elegance.

Catarratto

The 2020 Palazzo Del Mare Catarratto wine is crisp and citrus laced with passionfruit, sweet ripe lemons and a traces of almond on the finish. Light enough to be enjoyed on its own but also a great accompaniement to a variety of seafood dishes. The Catarratto grape calls sicily home and this example displays the signature crisp, citrus laced fruit filled style.

The 2019 Alma Gemela White Field Blend, Onofri offers striking aromas of floral and citrus notes layered with hints of white fruit and subtle vanilla.  Medium-bodied and texturally complex with a fresh, elegant finish.  Truly delicious and a great example of a modern Argentine blend.

Sercial

On the nose the Manda Chuva frmo Heredade de Portocarro is very mineral-like with saline tinges and white fleshed fruits. The palate is imposing, assertive and has superb minerality.  This complex white wine will continue to develop with a few years in bottle, but whilst young taking a sip is just like taking a dip in the Atlantic!
