2016 Chateau Fontestau, Cru Bourgeois Medoc
Bordeaux Blend
This 2016 vintage provided Fontestau with a perfectly healthy crop and there wasn't any need to add sulphur treatments in the vineyard or the winery. It boasts a very rich garnet colour with an expressive nose showing jammy aromas of red fruit such as cherry and strawberry. The palate is ample and full-bodied with a tense, fresh structure. The tannins are rich and tasty, conferring flavour and length to the wine. This is a remarkably balanced vintage with a real force of character.

Semillon/Sauvignon
Chateau Saransot-Dupre is a favourably sited 17 hectares property that lies between Fourcas Dupré and Fourcas Hosten in Listrac. Due to Listrac’s cooler temperatures, Merlot and Cabernet Franc are favoured over Cabernet Sauvignon to form the majority of the blend, helping them achieve optimum ripeness. Much like Chateau Fourcas Hosten, the wines have improved year on year since 2010 and the property were put on the radar thanks to a certain Robert Parker hailing the 2010 vintage as 'classed growth quality'. High praise indeed!
