Description

The Canvasback Red Mountain Cab Sauv is made with predominantly Cabernet Sauvignon (84%), with Merlot (7%), Malbec (7%) and Petit Verdot (2%), playing a supporting role.  The wine shows a complex mix of red and dark fruits, sometimes verging on the exotic, and spice such as cinnamon and star anise.  Ripe red berry fruit on the palate leads to a luscious, velvety palate that has hints of cigar box and baking spices enveloped by plush tannins and underpinned by a fine mineral streak.

Pinot Noir

The grapes for this wine are hand harvested from 2 parcels in the heart of Mercurey where the soil is clay and limestone. They spend 10-15 days fermenting in the tank before being put into French oak barrels, 30% of which are new.  The wine then spends 12 months in barrel before being blended and bottled.
