Description

The Tokara Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon wine displays a deep maroon colour with a vibrant edge. The nose leads with classic graphite notes, briary fruits interwoven with aromas of five spice and the faintest hint of dried porcini. There is a freshness underscoring these aromas with hints of dark cherry, red currant and fynbos scrub.  The palate is pleasantly full bodied, yet not overpowering, with flavours mirroring the aromas all leading to a multitextured finish.  Superb stuff from one of Stellenbosch’s finest properties.

This wine is a blend of 90% Cabernet Sauvignon, 7% Petit Verdot and 3% Malbec made with grapes from Tokara’s premium vineyards on the slopes of the Simonsberg Mountain just outside of Stellenbosch.

The Vinvita Rubicone is a very easy drinking red showing typical Sangiovese character with heaps of pure, upfront fruit unhindered by any oak ageing. Ripe cherry and red fruits, with a touch of flowers and spice. Well-balanced, juicy and extremely quaffable.

2020 Chateau Saransot Dupre, Cru Bourgeois Superieurlistrac

Bordeaux Blend

Chateau Saransot-Dupre is a favourably sited 17 hectares property that lies between Fourcas Dupré and Fourcas Hosten in Listrac.  Due to Listrac’s cooler temperatures, Merlot and Cabernet Franc are favoured over Cabernet Sauvignon to form the majority of the blend, helping them achieve optimum ripeness.  Much like Chateau Fourcas Hosten, the wines have improved year on year since 2010 and the property were put on the radar thanks to a certain Robert Parker hailing the 2010 vintage as 'classed growth quality'.  High praise indeed!
