Description

Originally founded in Santenay in 1804 as Domaine Prieur, this Domaine was enlarged in 1955  when Guy Prieur married Elisabeth Brunet from Meursault, and Domaine Prieur Brunet was born.  The wines epitomise the essence of Burgundy and are truly reflective of the various terroirs the region has to offer.

The 1er Cru site of Maladiere sits at just over 300 meters above sea level on a mixture of soils ranging from clay to limestone, which produces wines which are well-structured and complex yet not too full and, most importantly, immediately appealing.  The delicious 2017 is fermented in oak with a further 12 months ageing in barrel.  This 100% Pinot Noir is medium bodied with a generous, soft red fruit character and finely balanced finish.  Drinking beautifully.

2020 Chateau Saransot Dupre, Cru Bourgeois Superieurlistrac

Bordeaux Blend

Chateau Saransot-Dupre is a favourably sited 17 hectares property that lies between Fourcas Dupré and Fourcas Hosten in Listrac.  Due to Listrac’s cooler temperatures, Merlot and Cabernet Franc are favoured over Cabernet Sauvignon to form the majority of the blend, helping them achieve optimum ripeness.  Much like Chateau Fourcas Hosten, the wines have improved year on year since 2010 and the property were put on the radar thanks to a certain Robert Parker hailing the 2010 vintage as 'classed growth quality'.  High praise indeed!
