Description
The Sorine estate is owned and run by the heirs of one of the oldest families in Santenay. The family estate was rebuilt in 1946 by Jean Sorine and was then taken over by his son Christian in 1990. Today Christian is joined by his wife Emma in the vineyards and winery. With limited vineyards available in Santenay the estate has grown and now also includes some Maranges.
Whole bunches are brought to the cellar after harvesting. Juice is extracted by pneumatic press followexd by a 36 hour ‘debourbage’ to allow the grape solids to be seperated from the must. The wine is then fermented in barrel undergoing bi-monthly ‘battonage’ for a period of 3 months. Aged in oak barrel for 12 months. Light filtration, no fining and bottled on the estate.

The 2020 Collequieto Falerio Pecorino wine has citrussy and tropical fruit notes, such as clementine, mango and pineapple, but also stone fruit and hints of herbaceous notes such as sage. Balanced with good acidity and a rounded geneours mouthfeel. Flavours of white peach, lemon and pear carry through to the lightly mineral finish.

Sercial
On the nose the Manda Chuva frmo Heredade de Portocarro is very mineral-like with saline tinges and white fleshed fruits. The palate is imposing, assertive and has superb minerality. This complex white wine will continue to develop with a few years in bottle, but whilst young taking a sip is just like taking a dip in the Atlantic!
