Description

Produced only in the finest vintages, from the best sites in Rioja Alta, the Imperial Gran Reserva Rioja is the pinnacle of the Imperial range.  Fermented in oak vats, with a further 24 months (minimum) in a mixture of French and American oak and then aged for a furtehr 36 months in CVNE’s cellars prior to release, this full-bodied red is a real treat.

“This is very ripe with blackberries, dried fruit, toasted oak and black licoricey on the nose. Full-bodied with ultra-fine, linear tannins and a racy, refined finish. This has fantastic structure and length. It goes on for minutes. It needs time to open and refine even more. One of the best Imperial Gran Reservas in a very long time.” James Suckling, 2021
