JJ Corry The Hanson Grain Whisky

Single Grain

On the nose it is bright and floral with a hint of deep oak. The palate is lively to start with bright, green apples and toasted coconut continuing from the nose. The influence of fresh oak is clear, with rye grass developing to lemongrass. To finish, there is a measure of salinity and minerality that makes it very moreish.

Lochlea Fallow Edition Second Crop.JPG

Lochlea Fallow Edition 2nd Crop

Single Malt

We think that the Second Crop Fallow Edition from Lochlea looks almost too good to drink!  This beautiful, almost mahogany coloured whisky is matured in a mixture of Oloroso and Pedro Ximenez casks which not only contribute to the amazing colour but add complex Manuka honey and Golden Syrup characters on the nose.  The palate is equally complex being layered with fresh ground coffee, sweet ginger spice and an underlying nuttiness.  The Second Crop Fallow Edition is a fabulous addition to the wonderful whiskies of Lochlea that we already stock.  Sadly production is limited to only 11,000 bottles worldwide so grab some while you can!

Campbeltown Loch.JPG

Campbeltown Loch Blended Malt

This release from Springbank is a blend of Campbeltown malts from Springbank, Kilkerran, Longrow and Glen Scotia.  Blended and bottled at Springbank this is a quintessential taste of Campbeltown. Initially sweet with the soft notes of fruit, honey and butterscotch developing to reveal a more complex character.  Traditional maritime and spice flavours combining with the subtlest touch of peat smoke on the finish.

Lochlea Cask Strength2.JPG

Lochlea Cask Strength Single Malt Batch 1

This is the first cask strength release from the family-owned Lochlea distillery.  Using locally grown ingredients the whisky is distilled and aged on site in a mixture of 1st Fill Bourbon Barrels and 1st Fill Oloroso Sherry Butts.  It goes without saying that the whisky is non-chill filtered and the colour is natural.  The nose shows a complex mixture of fruit, cigar notes and roasted coffee beans which leads to a palate that is nicely fruited with hints of brazil nuts.  The finish is rich and oaky.
