Description
The Le General from Lanzerac, one of the oldest farms in Stellenbosch, is a rich, full-bodied Cabernet-based blend with a pronounced nose of vanilla and nutmeg spice leading to a flood of dark berries, cooked plums and blackcurrants on the palate. The long, complex finish shows dark chocolate and hints of smoke supported by sturdy yet smooth tannins.
The Le Général 2021 is a blend of 63% Cabernet Sauvignon, 22% Merlot, 10% Malbec and 5% Petit verdot, was matured in a combination of new and 2nd fill 225 and 300 litre French oak barrels for a period of 20
months. The 4 varietals were individually fermented and matured before careful blending and bottling.

2022 Gonzo Combat Rouge, Vandal Wine Company
Red Blend
The Gonzo Combat Rouge is a rather unusual field blend of Pinot Noir, Cabernet Franc and Viognier which are co-fermented with whole bunch fermentation. The results is a beautifully supple yet plush and ripe red wine with sweet, spicy raspberry and cherry fruit. We've found it drinks best slightly chilled on a warm evening.
