Trebbiano

Bòggina B is produced from Tuscan Trebbiano vines in Valdarno, planted in the ‘70s in the “Poggio” vineyard. This area has been known since 1300 for its quality, and the wines were sent to the popes in Rome and the courts of Florence. Bòggina B was born in 2014 as a tribute to the renowned white wines from Valdarno of the past. The wine is matured “Sur lies” for over 15 months in specially-selected French oak tonneaux. Constant batonnage is employed during the early months, gradually decreasing over time. “This is fresh and perfumed with notes of beeswax, spicy herbs and orange blossom. Nuts. Honey blossom. Beautiful fruit with savory undertones and wet stone minerality. Full-bodied, so persistent and complex with depth to the fruit and stunning acidity. Crisp, fresh and wonderfully approachable, this certified Organic Trebbiano from the beautiful Abruzzo region of Italy is a terrific new find for us.  Bright and concentrated with citrus tinged floral aromas on the nose leading to a well-balanced palate packed with pear and apple fruit and a faint saline edge to the finish.  Thirst quenching and more'ish, this provides terrific year round drinking and is an especially good match to shellfish.
