2019 Tannat Sans Soufre, Lionel Osmin et Cie, Vin de France

Tannat

Lionel Osmin has created a cracking no added sulphur Tannat from vineyards in and around Madiran.  Licourice and nutmeg spice mingle with the dense and concentrated bramble and plum fruit.  Quite plush on the palate and although polished there is still a rustic edge keeping the wine true to the grape variety.  The thickness of the skins on the Tannat grape make it a robust style that is well suited to no added sulphur wines.

2021 Monbazillac ‘Jour de Fruit’ Domaine de l’Ancienne Cure

Semillon

The Domaine de l'Ancienne Cure Monbazillac is an aromatic and complex dessert wine that is blended from Semillon, Sauvignon Blanc and Muscadelle and is among the best of the region. It's a rich, sweet 'liquoreux' wine with aromas of dried fruit and honey. It can be drunk as an apéritif or with blue cheese or fruit desserts. Christian Roche is one of the best producers in Monbazillac. Good alternative to Sauternes, botrytis affected (Noble Rot) Semillon, and is aged in new oak. Hints of sherbet and boiled sweets with a long complex finish.

This wonderful blend of Muscat, Muscadelle, Gewurztraminer, Viognier and Riesling from the south-west of France has to be a one of a kind.  The Baie Orientale from Lionel Osmin is a winemaking triumph, balancing aromatic complexity and freshness with aplomb.  This intriguing wine displays varietal characters of rose petal, lychee and melon alongside superbly balanced acidity, making it a an ideal match to spicier dishes.

Veuve Goudoulin Single Malt

This is a fabulous French Malt Whiskey from the esteemed Armagnac producers Veuve Goudoulin.  It's a very appealing style with notes of butterscotch and toffee alongside hints of spice on the finish.  Aged in Armagnac barrels, the whisky has a true point of difference.
