Description

This wonderful Morgon Cote de Py is the flagship wine in an impressive range from Domaine Petit Perou. The vineyards are over 40 years old and lie at 300 meters above sea level on a mixture of schist and decomposed granite soils, which add a telltale minerality to the wine.  The expressive nose shows a mixture of red and black fruits with brighter notes of cherry too. The palate is wonderfully rounded, courtesy of 18 months in oak, superbly balanced and has a lovely mixture of freshness and velvety tannins on the finish.  Open and hugely enjoyable at the moment (with a bit of breathing), this lovely wine will continue to develop for up to 10 years from the vintage.
