Description

The Margaux Selection from Maison Sichel  (of Chateau Palmer and Angludet fame) is savoury and classic with relatively powerful tannins.  The palate is concentrated with notes of blackcurrant, fig and prune with the classic Left Bank signature coming through on the finish.

Hailing from a top Margaux Chateau in the Sichel stable which we are not allowed to divulge, this wine has great pedigree and represents superb value for money.

2013 La Reserve d’Angludet, AC Margaux

Bordeaux Blend

This second wine of Chateau Angludet is a perfectly mature claret that shows the elegance and finesse of it's more grown up sibling at a fraction of the price.  Silky, red and dark fruits abound with notes of cedar and liquorice sitting alongside well-integrated spice and oak.  Medium-bodied and approachable now, there is still enough structure to suggest further ageing would be possible.

2019 Chateau Saransot-Dupre, Cru Bourgeois Superieur Listrac

Bordeaux Blend

Chateau Saransot-Dupre is an excellently sited 17 hectares property that lies between Fourcas Dupré and Fourcas Hosten in Listrac.  Due to Listrac’s cooler temperatures, Merlot and Cabernet Franc are favoured over Cabernet Sauvignon to form the majority of the blend, helping them achieve optimum ripeness.  Much like Chateau Fourcas Hosten, the wines have improved year on year since 2010 and the property were put on the radar thanks to a certain Robert Parker hailing the 2010 vintage as 'classed growth quality'.  High praise indeed!

2012 Sauternes, Chateau Lamourette

Semillon/Sauvignon

The Sauternes from Chateau Lamourette are beautifully balanced with dried fruits, honeycomb and quince alongside perfectly poised acidity which freshens the wine.  Already showing nicely with a bit of time in bottle, this will continue to evolve for years to come.
