Description

Chateau Daviaud is now part of the Sichel stable and is producing fabulous, ripe claret from their vineyards.  Composed of 45% Merlot, 21% Cabernet Franc, 19% Cabernet Sauvignon and 15% Malbec, this approachable, great value red Bordeaux has both red and dark fruits on the nose and palate alongside a touch of peppery spice, nutmeg and liquorice.  The finish is nicely balanced with good freshness and fine tannins.

“Elegant and inviting, with aromas of cassis leading to neat tannins, bright cranberry and redcurrant on the palate”

2020 Chateau Saransot Dupre, Cru Bourgeois Superieurlistrac

Bordeaux Blend

Chateau Saransot-Dupre is a favourably sited 17 hectares property that lies between Fourcas Dupré and Fourcas Hosten in Listrac.  Due to Listrac’s cooler temperatures, Merlot and Cabernet Franc are favoured over Cabernet Sauvignon to form the majority of the blend, helping them achieve optimum ripeness.  Much like Chateau Fourcas Hosten, the wines have improved year on year since 2010 and the property were put on the radar thanks to a certain Robert Parker hailing the 2010 vintage as 'classed growth quality'.  High praise indeed!

Bordeaux Blend

Chateau Tournefeuille is a perfectly sited 17 hectare Lalande de Pomerol vineyard a stones throw from some of Pomerols most famous addresses, notably Petrus and Gazin. The clay/gravel soils here produce wines with great intensity and balance.  The agriculture is a 50/50 mix of vineyards under biodynamic conversion with the balance being farmed sustainably with no chemical weed control or insecticide.  Rich with ripe tannins this fabulous wine is approachable in its youth but will age gracefully.
