Description

For sheer value for money, this Moscatel is one of our favourite Dessert wines, despite it being the ‘entry-level’ offering from Sivipa.

Classic dried fruits, citrus peel, caramel and spices dominate the nose with a pretty floral character. Classic, honey and sweet marmalade flavours on the relatively intense palate are balanced by great acidity, making the finish clean and fresh.

Palomino

The Barbadillo Finos are more Manzanilla-like in style, but are aged in Bodegas with less exposure to the cooling sea breezes. The flor in the barrels grows vigorously in these cellars so the wine is a little more nutty and toasty than the more appley and yeasty Manzanillas of Sanlucar.

Douro Blend

A brick-red appearance with some light orange tinges leads into a fine slightly smokey aroma with hints of dried fruits. The palate is refreshing, with wonderful acidity and hints of dried apricots and crystallised fruit, leading to a lengthy mellow spirit driven finish.

Red Blend

The Vermut Rojo, red vermouth is produced in the same way by Martínez Lacuesta since 1937. The Conzia - or extract, aromatic plants and herbs macerated cold in white wine - is aged in American oak barrels, and is added to the white wine with sugar, citric acid and alcohol.

2015 Late Bottled Vintage Eirados, Quinta Santa Eufemia

Douro Blend

Eirados make a very approachable, traditional style of LBV (Late Bottled Vintage), with the hand picked grapes fermented in granite lagares before resting in stainless steel for 6 months prior to ageing in Portuguese oak casks for 3 years.
