The 2018 Ironcloud The Alliance Cabernet/Malbec is a delicious blend where both Cabernet and Malbec characteristics shine through, with the Cabernet bringing generous vibrant flavours of blueberry and plum followed by chocolate on the long, textured finish.
Ironcloud Estate is situated in the picturesque Ferguson Valley, in the hills of the Geographe Wine Region of Western Australia. Located 20 minutes inland from the city of Bunbury, 2 hours south of Perth and 1 hour north of Margaret River, the winery is ideally placed to enjoy near perfect vine growing conditions. In its short history, Ironcloud has won numerous Australian and International awards and received strong praise from respected Australian wine writers.
The fruit for this wine was estate grown from Cabernet Sauvignon vines planted in 1999 and Malbec in 2009. Both varieties were harvested and fermented separately and each component was aged in a combination of new and older French Oak barrels before blending together and fined, filtered and bottled.

Vincent Roussely is the fourth generation of the family to make wines at this beautiful 8 hectare vineyard site in the heart of Chenonceaux on the Cher River. New inox fermentation tanks have been put in place located in carved out recesses in the soft stone. Ferments are spontaneous and naturally very slow. 100% Gamay, 50% of which is whole bunch ferment and 50% destemmed from the younger vineyards around the village of Ange, south of the Cher river. Natural ferments with malolactic fermentation taking place in stainless steel and bottled the summer after harvest.
