Description
The Payten and Jones winery in Yarra Valley has never been one to follow the crowd and they specialise in minimal intervention, natural (in a good way), farming and winemaking, that translates into styles which are fruit forward and downright enjoyable.
Behn Payten lovingly tends his Sangiovese vines so the grapes which reach the winery are in tip top condition. The wine is whole bunch fermented in old oak, producing a very fruit forward style of Sangiovese that is soft and approachable, while still having an amazing structure.

Nerello Mascalese
The Nostru range from Azienda Agricola Cortese offer terrific value, expressive wines made with grapes more commonly associated with the slopes of Mount Etna. The farming here is traditional and a nod to when organic production was a way of life rather than an informed decision.
