Description
The Gran Passione project was set up in 2013 in homage to the Venetians long standing history of being great traders and their rich wine culture. The aim was to create wines of high quality, that are affordable and representative in style to those that have been made in Veneto for centuries.
Gran Passione is made with a blend of Merlot and Corvina grape varieties which are harvested at different times. The first havest takes place when the grapes are at optimum ripeness, whilst the second takes place in October after the grapes have had extended hanging time and raisined on the vine. Following seperate fermentation of both batches, the wine is blended and aged in Slavonian oak for 3 – 4 months. Vibrant purple in colour with a rich luscious nose full of sweet ripe dark cherry, plum, vanilla and christmas spice. The palate is rich and velvety with soft tannins and lots of juicy fruit. Almost dangerously drinkable.
Grape varieties: Merlot and Corvina

2020 ‘O Font’ Les Deux Cols, Vin de France
Grenache Blend
Les Deux Cols is a joint venture between Ireland's leading Rhone importer, Simon Tyrell and Charles Derain, one time Sommelier to Alain Ducasse at Le Louis XV in Paris. This Grenache Noir dominated blend is whole bunch and foot trodden, natural yeast fermented in concrete tanks and then matured in a mixture of old barriques and larger demi-muid barrels. Pale in the glass, this is fresh and easy with red fruits and a hint of spice. Hand harvesting takes place at least a week earlier than the neighbouring properties allowing for a fresher style, and all vineyards are either organic or in conversion with some biodynamic practices in use.
