Description
The 2016 Riesling Trocken Binger Quarzit, Riffel is from the excellent 2016 vintage, showing wonderful aromas of lemongrass and kaffir lime leaf and a palate that reverberates with (quarzit) mineral intensity.
Binger Quarzit is a blend of Riffel’s premium sites, namely Kirchberg & Scharlachberg, which doubtless would be Grosses Gewachs (great growths or GG’s) under the next cycle of reclassification.

Carricante
The Nostru range from Azienda Agricola Cortese offer terrific value, expressive wines made with grapes more commonly associated with the slopes of Mount Etna. The farming here is traditional and a nod to when organic production was a way of life rather than an informed decision.
