Description

The 2016 Riesling Trocken Binger Quarzit, Riffel is from the excellent 2016 vintage, showing wonderful aromas of lemongrass and kaffir lime leaf and a palate that reverberates with (quarzit) mineral intensity.

Binger Quarzit is a blend of Riffel’s premium sites, namely Kirchberg & Scharlachberg, which doubtless would be Grosses Gewachs (great growths or GG’s) under the next cycle of reclassification.

Chardonnay

The 2019 Dorset Chardonnay, Bride Valley is lighter than the much lauded 2018 vintage, this is a fresh, citrus tinged Chardonnay made very much in the tradition mould.  Enjoy as an aperitif or with shellfish.

Pecorino

The Collequieto Falerio Pecorino wine has citrussy and tropical fruit notes, such as clementine, mango and pineapple, but also stone fruit and hints of herbaceous notes such as sage. Balanced with good acidity and a rounded geneours mouthfeel. Flavours of white peach, lemon and pear carry through to the lightly mineral finish.

Chenin Blanc

The 2019 Tin Mine White is a stunning blend of Chenin, Chardonnay, Roussanne, Viognier and Semillon, coming from vineyards planted on decomposed granite soils which lie between 200 and 350m above sea level.  Ageing in 500 litre French oak barrels helps add to the wonderful texture without detracting from the impeccably integrated exotic, spicey fruit and lively yet balanced acidity.
