The 2013 Liaison Riesling, Mountford Estate, North Canterbury is a fabulous Riesling is mature and has filled out wonderfully. Notes of quince, lemon, lime and grapefruit underpin some oily richness. The acidity is still fresh though and the wine shows great length on the bright floral finish.
Mountford Estate is a boutique vineyard and winery, internationally renowned for making elegant wines of distinction, quality and interest. The stunning 21 year-old, 10 hectare vineyard is situated on the Eastern hillside of the Waipara Valley, which is highly regarded for the limestone rich soil. The team at Mountford Estate place a strong emphasis on attention to detail and use bio-dynamic practices in the vineyard and traditional Burgundian methods in the winery.

In the vineyards he concentrates on low yields and in the cellars he oversees the vinification in the most natural and minimalist manner to produce wines with precise varietal character.
