1998 Chateau Musar, Bekaa Valley
Cabernet Sauvignon
The 1998 Musar Red is an elegant and fragrant Cinsault dominated vintage, mainly due to the cooler conditions. It shows wonderfully developed gamey aromas, is well structured and has a vein of finely poised acidity running through it. Medium bodied with great length. The vintage was, by Lebanese standards, cold, with rainy weather that lasted until June (resulting in late flowering), leading to a summer that was sunny and dry.

Out of Stock1999 Privado Anada Valsardo, Bodegas Valsardo
Tempranillo
The 1999 Privado Anada is a great value, fully mature Tempranillo from Valldolid. The wine still has plenty of fruit along with leather, spice and balsamic notes and decent degree of freshness too. Please note that the corks on some of these bottles can be very delicate so it is best to use a Butler's Thief style opener.

Add to basket2001 Rioja Voche Vino de Autor, DOCa Rioja
Tempranillo
The 2001 Voche Vino de Autor is a fabulous wine from the Manzanos stable. Situated on the borders of Rioja and Navarra the Manzanos group produce characterful wines with a true sense of place. 2001 was hailed as one of the best vintages ever in Rioja and we are delighted to have snapped up a parcel of this mature Rioja. Half of the wine spends over 5 years in a mixture of second and third fill French and American oak, adding toasty complexity to the concentrated dried fruit and forest floor flavours. The palate is full and generous with nuanced vanilla leading to a well structured yet silky finish.

Add to basket2008 Clos du Marquis, AC St.Julien
Bordeaux Blend
"The 2008 Clos du Marquis has an expressive bouquet with blackberry, briary and pencil shaving aromas that gains intensity with aeration. The palate is medium-bodied with just a light seam of greenness, although it merely adds freshness and asserts its classicism. I find this fresh and balanced, sporting just the right amount of dryness on the cassis-driven finish that balanced with the fruit, lending it a “breezy” and unassuming character that suits it down to the ground. Enjoy this over the next decade". Drink 2018 - 2028

Bordeaux Blend
Château Grandis became a family run estate in 1857 and the vineyards are made up of a modest 10 hectares which enables the family to maintain the strictest high standards both in the vineyard and the cellar. In 2005 Brice Vergez took over the running of the estate and has continued to practice the techniques of hand harvesting, hand pruning and racking from barrel to barrel. He also prefers ploughing between the rows of vines rather than the systematic use of herbicides, promoting soil health wherever possible.

Merlot
"The 2014 Feytit Clinet has a crisp bouquet with violet-tinged black fruit, understated and very precise (a leitmotif of Jeremy Chasseuil's wine). The palate is clean and precise, very well defined with a mineral-infused finish that lingers long in the mouth. There is nothing ostentatious about this wine, rather it is all about the composure, refinement and precision. It can be summed up in two words: Bon vin!" Drink Date 2019 - 2035

Bordeaux Blend
The 2014 vintage of this 'under the radar' Chateau is a blend of 78% Cabernet Sauvignon, 16% Merlot and 6% Cabernet Franc. Chateau Saint-Pierre is the smallest classed growth in Saint Julien but has a growing reputation for producing excellent, deeply coloured reds. It is part of the Chateau Gloria stable and often eclipses it's more illustrious stablemate in blind tastings. Prices are creeping up as their reputation grows but these beautifully made wines still represent good value.

Following fermetation the wine spends 60 months ageing in barrel providing beautifully integrated wood, spice and fruit. This decadent Amarone is rich and warming with the typical plum, cherry and choclate characteristics one would expect on the wonderfully silky palate. The finish is very long and warming - one for those long winter evenings!
